Following on from last year's immaculate 'Butter & Gold' release, OAKK returns to grace the label once again with the 'Sunshower' E.P.
The title track, a collaboration with TW/TW founders Ivy Lab, features OAKK's vocals at centre stage and sets a tone of pensive reflection which has become a hallmark of the now Vancouver-based producer's sound. The following piece carries a self assured defiance - "Who are you to tell me I can't?" - whilst still sat against a beautifully delicate backdrop, paving the way for the sun-drenched-cali-drive, amped up re-imagination of 'Butter & Gold'. The effortlessly slick 'Madeleine' is a landing pad, which rounds out the project with an air of infectious confidence.
The electronic first full-length album in five years showcases his diverse sound palette of juke, footwork, and dubstep. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 29, 2022
